Russell James Sholle II

CUYAHOGA FALLS- Russell James Sholle II, 75, passed away on September 17, 2023.

Russell was born March 24, 1948, to the late Russell James and Evelyn Irene Sholle. He attended and graduated from Nordonia High School. After high school, Russell enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served honorably during the Vietnam conflict.  While working at Lucerne Products, he earned his private pilot license, following in his father’s footsteps. He loved to take his family on flights around the area.

Russell enjoyed gardening, especially his sunflowers, and was a handy mechanic often called a “jack of all trades”. He was musically inclined; a talent passed down through many generations. He could pick up any instrument, his favorite being the guitar. Russell had a love for cooking, model cars, and electronics.

Russell is survived by his son, Frank James Sholle; daughter, Jessica (Steve) Cole; and their mother, Barbara Sholle; sisters, JoAnne Smerk and Janet (Don) Mayer; grandchildren, Mayson, Alexandrea, Michael, and Eliana; great-grandchildren, Theia and Penelope Evelyn; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Tiva and Priscilla.

Russell was preceded in death by his beloved cat of 9 years, Indy.

The family invites you to join them for a celebration of life gathering at Lions Park Lodge, 641 Silver Lake Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, 44221 beginning at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to an animal organization of your choice or the Cleveland Orchestra.
