Ruth Hostetler

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Ruth E. Hostetler, 88, passed away October 7, 2011. Born in Akron, Ohio, she graduated from North High in 1940. Attending Akron University, she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and graduated with a BA in Home Economics. She was married to Robert L. Hostetler for 65 years and a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for 56 years. She was employed in the education field, teaching at Stow High School and St Thomas Hospital. She and her husband were also successful business owners. They were founding members of Bailey Road Christian Church. Over the last 30 summers, they enjoyed visits with family and friends at their cottage on Atwood Lake.

Ruth is survived by sons David (Karen) of RHE, California, and Robert of Elyria, Ohio; daughter Karen (Tammy Jirmasek) of Sunbury, Ohio; grandchildren Jacob and Nicole; and sister, Esther Emerick of Rootstown, Ohio.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 12th from 6-8PM and a memorial service for family, neighbors and friends will be held 1PM Thursday, October 13th, at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home at 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
