Ruth Peterson

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Ruth Helen Peterson (nee McElhinny), 89, passed away May 18, 2014. Ruth was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio at an early age with her mother, Lulu Victoria (Mitchell); father, J. Albert McElhinny and elder sister, Marian. She moved to Cuyahoga Falls to finish grammar school and graduated from CFHS in 1942.

Ruth was a Girl Scout, Girl Scout leader, seamstress, High School reunion planner extraordinaire, and retired from CFHS after 18 years as secretary for the Unit B classes.

Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, parents and husband, Carl; and is survived by her daughters Pam and Jan.

We express our deepest gratitude to the staff at Cardinal Retirement Village, where mom lived the past few years. They were mom's biggest fans.

Per Mom's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday May 22, 2014 at Oakwood Cemetery, 2420 Oakwood Dr. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. In honor of "Mother Ruth" Peterson, please make remembrances to the animal relief organization of your choice. Wag more, bark less.
