STOW-Ruth (Tingler) Tschantz Scott Sendelbach went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2014 after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lilly May (Jamison) Tingler and Curtis J. Tingler. Both were from Potts Creek, Virginia.
Also, preceded in death was her sister Madeline Simmons (Berlin) and her brother Warren Tingler, both from Akron, Ohio. The husband and father of her children was Carl C. Tschantz of Cuyahoga Falls; second husband James Scott of Canton, Ohio. Both husbands died of cancer.
She was the mother of three dear children, Drucilla L. (Tschantz) Fiala (David), James C. Tschantz (Patti), and Linda B. (Tschantz) McNeil (Tom). She was grandmother to three grandchildren, Jaclyn Tschantz, Eric Tschantz and Lauren McNeil. She was the "step"grandmother of Carla Miner (Blake).
She was the step-mother of Gloria Parker (Sam) of Canton, OH, Judy Smith of California, Roger Scott of California and David Turner of North Carolina (deceased) and was step-grandmother to Jim Parker. She had many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her dear husband James Sendelbach, who took such good care of her through the last 20 years of her life.
She worked at Polsky's, Firestone Paymasters Office and later retired from the Summit County Auditors Office. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls for 55 years. She was a choir mother, a den mother of Boy Scouts and a Rainbow mother. She was president of the women's Democratic Study Club and of Star Lighters Ohio Eastern Star. She belonged to AARP and NARFE and PERS.
She was blessed with many family and friends whom she loved very deeply.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Service at Western Reserve Hospital for all the care they gave to her and the family.
Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, April 16 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls OH 44221. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 16. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday April 17 at the First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls OH, 44221.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls and the Hospice Service at Western Reserve Hospital.
