Sally Hunt

HUDSON - Sally A. Hunt 87, passed away November 10, 2016.

Sally was born in Rochester, New York to Edward and Grayce (Dobbins) MacFayden and graduated from John Strong High School in Erie, PA. She has resided in Hudson since 1957 and retired after more than 36 years in 1986 from the Admissions Office at Kent State University. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Kent, Ohio.

While working at Kent and up to the date of her death Sally was a huge Kent State sports enthusiast. She was a devoted fan, going to the games, watching on TV or listening on the radio, either way she was there. Sally was a Kent State Blue and Gold Club member for years and was known as the "Cookie Lady" because she used to bake cookies and treats for the players before many of the games. Many of these players were still in contact and or paying visits to her throughout her life which is greatly appreciated by her family. If she wasn't watching or listening to the KSU Flashes, it was the "Cavs" or the "Tribe" that she was supporting.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband of 52 years Robert F. Hunt, brother, Edward G. MacFayden and brother-in-law, David M. Hunt; she will be remembered as the dearest aunt to Christine (Kenneth) Aquilio, Douglas (Claire) MacFayden, David (Lori) MacFayden, Sharon Cates, Melissa (Michael) Allee, David R. Hunt and Carol (Gene) Loving and many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank the Migyanko family, Charlie, Betty, Sabrina Tirpak and Danielle Gundling for their love and friendship since 1958 and to Griswold Home Care and each caregiver for taking such good care of Sally for the last several years.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where friends may call one hour prior to the service time.
