Salvatore Sarvabui

Salvatore Sarvabui went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2024. Born on September 12, 1938 in Limina, Messina, Italy. As a teen he moved with his family to Caracas Venezuela.

He is preceded in death by his parents Antonino and Giuseppina; brothers, Sebastiano and Antonio; and daughter Silvia (Stanley) Wolford. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, Anthony and daughter Johanna (Mark) Wilks; grandchildren, Rosa, Joy, Michael, Mia, Adyn and Ariana; brothers Mario and Angelo; sister Lucrezia; many nieces and nephews.

While in Venezuela he learned the art of making shoes. Salvatore immigrated to Akron and owned Sam’s Shoe Repair. He took time practicing the art of repairing and renewing shoes, boots, handbags, coats, gloves and numerous other leather goods. In 1990 Salvatore transitioned to be a Machine Technician and later a Billing Coordinator at Sterling Inc.

Salvatore was a member of Akron First Assembly of God church and was a member of the board for several years. He served as a choir member, faithful Sunday School teacher, caring home group leader, altar worker, and powerful prayer leader. Alongside his wife he assisted in encouraging nursing home ministry.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 20, 2024 at 11am at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, with visitation an hour before the service.

Burial at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park
