Samuel II

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Samuel J. Davis II, 73, died at his residence January 21, 2007. Mr. Davis was born in Honolulu, HI and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls the past 7 years, moving here from Chino Valley, AZ. He was a career officer in the U. S. Air Force retiring as Lt. Col. in 1977, specializing in electronic weaponry. He was recipient of the Silver Star, 2 DFCs and 25 Oak Leaf Clusters. After retirement, he helped to organize literacy programs in Chino Valley, AZ and taught math. He also volunteered for AARP in tax preparation for seniors and mentored astronomy students. He was a member of St. Luke's in Prescott, AZ, the Old Crows Assoc, Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Assoc. and was a life member of the Society of Wild Weasels.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betsy; daughter, Reed (Timothy) Porter of Stow; sons, Peter W. Davis of Scottsdale, AZ, Stuart P. (Kathryn) Davis of Cuyahoga Falls and Andrew L. (Roxanne) Davis of Newport News, VA and grandchildren, Amber Porter and Andrew, Sam and Adam Davis.

The Family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers, Candelee Phillips and Debi Winter and his hospice nurses and aides, Norma, Cindy, Dale and Tammy.
