Akron- Sarah Pauline Fisher passed away unexpectedly, April 25, 2024.
Sarah was born January 18, 1986, in Akron to her loving mother, Theresa Fisher. She is a proud graduate of Oberlin College, where she met her husband, Tim. She went on to attend grad school at Indiana University, Bloomington, earning a master’s in library science. Following grad school, Sarah and Tim married in 2012, sharing almost 12 wonderful years together. Shortly after marriage, the two moved to Cincinnati where she opened “The Hoop and Needle” an alternative stitch store.
Sarah was a world traveler, and roller coaster enthusiast along with her husband Tim. She traveled to many states, expanding her travels overseas. She never met a hostel she didn’t like. She was not afraid of anything and loved to tell tales about her 6-month stint as a pub maid in London. Sarah and Tim took countless road trips across the US seeking thrills on the best of the nation’s coasters. After countless rides on many coasters, Velocicoaster remained her all-time favorite. Sarah was an avid cat owner, caring for her five cats; Mabel Adelaide, adopted in her grad school years, late, Toby Leopold, adopted in Indiana, mascot of “The Hoop and Needle” Darcy Jo, adopted in Cincinnati, Seamus Iorick, adopted in Akron, and Claudette, rescued from their back yard.
Left to cherish her memory are, her husband, Tim; mother, Theresa; special aunts, Paige Fisher, Nanno “Ann Marie” Pfeiffer, and Janice Pfeiffer; uncles, William (Elizabeth) Pfeiffer, Daniel Pfeiffer, Donald (Christine) Pfeiffer; parents-in-law, John and Melodie Dustin; brothers-in-law, Greg Dustin and Brad (fiancé Lauren) Dustin; many cousins, especially her Toledo cousins; and her four loving “cat-children”.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, “Mommo and Poppo” Patricia and Jacob Pfeiffer, paternal grandparents, Eleanor and Raymond Fisher; and aunt, Margaret Pfeiffer.
Today is a lesser day without Sarah’s free spirit and independence influencing the world.
In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County.
Services will be held April 29 at 5:00pm with an hour of visitation starting 1 hour prior at 4:00 pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home
