Sharon Lee McGivern

Sharon "Shari" L. McGivern walked the stairway to heaven on Monday December 16th, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Shari was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls where she also raised her family. She was a nurse at Saint Thomas hospital for over 40 years and was a loving member of AA for 38 years and took pride in Founders Day at Ignatia Hall every year. Shari earned two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s in psychiatric nursing. She was also a certified drug and alcohol counselor. She touched the lives of many thousands of people.

She is survived by her husband Douglas McGivern, son Robert Burroughs, daughters Melisa Wharton and Trisha (Bill) Jarvis, grandsons Brandon (Loren) Bernadine and "her special love" "Curls" Adrian Wharton, her fur babies Ruby and Zu Zu and Frank the giant goldfish. She has been cremated and will be laid to rest come spring at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.

Mom, please give dad lots of hugs from us girls and Adrian.

Grandma, you were the most thoughtful and inspiring person ever in my life and taught me how to be kind and loving to all who enter my life. You taught me forgiveness when I needed it the most. I promise to protect Mommy, Auntie, and Papa just like I always promised. I love you grandma - Curls

Mom you are now in heaven, the magical place you always talked about. I will continue your legacy and take care of your favorite son-in-law as you would always tell him. I love you forever. - Trishy.

Mom, you were the monarch of our family, the best mother a girl could ever have or want. I am forever grateful for you being the best grandma to my son. I love you mamma. - Miss Milis.
