Stephen Pettit

Stephen Walter Pettit, 65, passed away on October 31, 2006 at Akron City Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Akron, OH on December 6, 1940 to Walter C. and Winifred R. Pettit. He was a 1958 graduate of Coventry High School, served in the U. S. Army from 1963 to 1965 and retired from First National Bank, First Merit in 2001 with 33 years service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter in 1970; his sister, Judy in 1965; and step-niece, Laura Stevenson in 2002; and is survived by his mother, Winifred (nee Richards) of Akron; brother and sister-in-law, David and Sherry of Akron; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rebecca and Doug Calaman of Clarkston, MI and Wendy and Joe Myers of Cuyahoga Falls; nieces and nephews, Amy (John) Wyse of Kent, Doug II, Victoria and Tony Calaman of Clarkston, MI and Molly and Louie Myers of Cuyahoga Falls; step-nieces, Debbie (Jeff) Roberts and Shelley (Brian) Wenzel; aunts and uncles, Marie Getz of Barberton, Alice and Art Moline of Wisconsin, Tony and Mary Richards, Trudy and Jim Kraft and Joanne Roetzel, all of Akron.

The Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 am Friday in Immaculate Heart of Mary. Final resting place Holy Cross Cemetery.
