Steve Mohac

Steve Mohac (Stjepan Mohac) went to be with the Lord on December 2nd after a brief illness.

 Steve was born August 4, 1934 in Zagreb, Croatia (former Yugoslavia).

He was Roman Catholic by Faith. Steve came to the United States in 1956 sponsored by The World Council of Churches and The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Akron, Ohio. The pastor was the Uncle of neighborhood childhood friends in Zagreb. He attended the equivalent of Catholic grade school and Catholic high school in Zagreb, and one year of tech school in Linz, Austria. He was employed by Portage Machine Co. and H. Muehlstein and Co. for 30 years. He also worked at Steel Products of Stow for over 5 years. 

He enjoyed working at all the companies. Steve loved to travel and went on several trips to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, Ft Walton Beach, Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach, Arizona and Michigan to name a few. Steve raced cars and was a fiery spirit riding and doing tricks on his motorcycle well into his sixties. He was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Eagles, and a life member of Wolf Ledges AC.

He was preceded in death by his parents Juraj Mohac and Dragica Bajs Mohac. 

He is survived by wife Barbara, children Shawn, Shannon and Steve, stepdaughter Gina, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A service to honor Steve will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, 44221. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, 4724 State Rd., Peninsula, OH, 44264
