Susan Jane Miller

Susan Jane Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2022, at the age of 82.  Susan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 29, 1939, daughter of the late Walter and Ann Purdy.  She relocated to Cuyahoga Falls in 1964 following her husband’s military service and dedicated her time to caring for her family and selflessly helping others.  Through Christ Community Chapel, Susan spent countless hours volunteering and serving the underprivileged by sewing and knitting prayer shawls and diapers for children in Haiti, among many other generous acts.  She also deeply loved her golden retrievers, but her most favorite thing was being a grandma.  Susan was kind and loving, and she will be dearly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Fraley.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Arlen Miller; children, Deborah McClure, David (Tracy) Miller, and Douglas (Robin) Miller; grandchildren, Nicklas Miller and Spencer, Bryce, and Bryan McClure; sister, Gail Gill; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, from 4-6 pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  A memorial service will begin immediately following visitation at 6 pm, also at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Christ Community Chapel to continue Susan’s mission to help others.
