Thelma Smith

Thelma L. Smith, 82, went home to be with the Lord May 11, 2005. Mrs. Smith was born in Akron where she had resided her entire life. She was a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and was an avid gardener and past president of the Garden Forum of Greater Akron and a member of the Tallmadge Garden Forum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis W. "Coot" and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jill of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Barbara Jean Steadman of Chicago; grandchildren, George (Dina) Kotsalieff, Todd Kotsalieff, Angela Kotsalieff, Michael Smith, Matthew Smith and Bethany (Timothy) Johnson; sisters, Helen E. Wood of Cuyahoga Falls and Gloria R. (John) Sawyer of Akron; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Smith and special friend, Don Kotsalieff.

The Family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the dialysis units of Summa and Falls Village.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm Friday in the Tallmadge United Methodist Church 207 N. Munroe Rd. Tallmadge, OH 44278, Rev. Gary N. Glazer officiating. Final resting place Rose Hill Burial Park. The Family requests memorials be made to Tallmadge United Methodist Church.
