Thomas O. Myers, Jr.

Thomas O. Myers, Jr., 79, of Akron, OH traveled to the great train yard in the sky on August 11, 2022.  Tom was born in Rutland, VT and moved around the country during and after WWII with his parents until they settled in Northeast Ohio around 1950.  He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1962 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force.  Tom was a no-nonsense kind of guy that retired from a warehouse position with JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores.  This gave him more time for his life-long passion of railfanning and enjoying time with his family & friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his brother Carl “Mike” Beach, his mother Irma Lang Myers and his father Thomas O. Myers.  He’s survived by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl (Ackley) Myers, his daughters Lisa Breiding of Akron, OH, Christin (John) Belicka of Seville, OH and Kelly Myers of Las Vegas, NV, sister Cindi Wilgues of Akron, OH and brother Peter Myers of San Francisco, CA.  In addition, he has 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 1:45 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, OH 44307 or online at akroncantonfoodbank.org.
