Thomas Smith

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Thomas L. Smith received his greatest wish and was peacefully reunited with his wife Betsy, the love of his life on Saturday September 13, 2008

Born on June 5, 1933 in Akron, Ohio, Tom enjoyed long and successful careers as the Broker of Smith and Associates Realty and the General Manager of Fred Godard Ford. He was at his happiest walking a car lot. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who brought joy to all of our lives daily. The two phrases most used to describe him were "He is a great man" and, He would give you the shirt off of his back". Tom loved his family, country music, sailing and helping people. Tom was the BEST husband, father and grandfather anyone could ever hope for. We'll miss his smile and crazy sense of humor and relentless worrying about his family, as well as his strength, honesty, caring and compassion. Tom enjoyed the truest kind of success. He was loved more than he could ever possibly know.

He is survived by daughters and sons Jennifer and Dan Lujan, Valerie and Carey George, grandsons, Brandon Lujan and Tyler Valendza, granddaughters, Emily and Kristin George as well as sisters Barbara Frazier and Claudia Dorsey, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Evan and Carol Lewis and Carolyn Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, Pastor Ernie Kemppel officiating, where friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. The Family requests donations to Haven of Rest Ministries, P.O. Box 547, Akron, OH 44309-0547 in his memory. Final resting place Oakwood Cemetery.
