Violet Spencer

"Together Again"

TALLMADGE - Violet "Wanita" Spencer, 92, passed away November 7, 2016. Born in Akron, OH, Wanita resided in the Akron area most of her life, enjoying a long happy life as a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed decorating her home and sewing. She worked during WWII as a "Rosie the Riveter" and was a former volunteer for Akron General Medical Center. She and her husband Clifford, of 61 yrs. enjoyed world travel and collecting souvenirs. She will be remembered dearly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Spencer Jr.; sister, Jean Gilmore; father, Elmer Hill and mother, Mabel Hill Nichols. She will be missed by her sons, Clifford A. Spencer III of Saipan, Chris A. (Kathleen) Spencer of Brimfield; grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Spencer, Craig (Sarah) Spencer, Allison Spencer; great-grandchildren, Alden, Ashley, Henry and Owen Spencer; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Many thanks to the staff at Heather Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Sprenger Hospice Care for their love and care these past several months.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, OH. Pastor Bill Michaels officiating. Remembrances can be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 6155 Rockside Rd. Suite 202 Independence, OH, 44131. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
