SILVER LAKE - Virginia Simpson, 90, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 23, 2013.
Virginia was born in Suffield, Ohio on August 15, 1923. A stellar student, she attended Seiberling School and graduated from Akron East High School. After graduation she worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company, then dedicated her life to making a happy, comfortable home for her family. Her outgoing nature and her affinity for others was evident in the many friends she made as an Avon representative for 21 years. She was active in the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, where she served as a Deacon.
A loving wife, she cherished her 65 years of marriage with Harold. They shared a deep love and commitment. Together they raised 3 children and doted on their 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who adored her. She was an inspiring role model for them all. Harold is grateful for the wonderful life they shared together. Compassion governed her actions leading her to love with her whole heart. She opened her mind to new adventures; she read and learned voraciously; she travelled extensively and was able to laugh at herself. With her charming openness, Virginia brought out the best in those around her.
Virginia is survived by husband, Harold, children Bruce (Sherrie) Simpson, Sue (Doug) Steidl, and Kathy (Doug) Patton, grandchildren Christina (Derek), Michael (Katie), Tiffany (Kirk), Chris (Ashley) and Josh, great-grandchildren Jack, Colten, Colin and Jasper.
