Walter Grimes

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Walter P. Grimes, 83, passed away May 26, 2007. Mr. Grimes was born in Fallentimber, PA and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1947. He had worked in the 3C Camp in New Mexico before serving with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific in WW2. He had been employed as a machinist for Vaughn Machine Co., later as a mill worker for Schnabel Lumber Co. and Hardware and later retired as a salesman for Overhead Garage Door. He was a member of American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Blanche Grimes and brothers, Clair and Cloyd Grimes, Mr. Grimes is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Greg Novelli; son and daughter-in-law, Walter P "Chip" and Barbara Grimes, all of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Philip (Cindy) Novelli, Francesca (Paul) Bishop, Paul Novelli, Maria (Russ) Kirby, Mandy Grimes, Nathan Grimes and Katlyn Grimes; great-grandchildren, Shawna and Anna Novelli, Cameron Kirby, Carina Bishop and Austin Frazier; brothers, Clarence (Peggy) Grimes, Frank (Jeannie) Grimes and Jim (Fran) Grimes; sisters, Imogene Zupich, Mary Lou (Renato) Nuti, Cleo (Dick) Spears, Beatrice Dotts, Helen (Bob) Hayman and Joyce (Bill) Baker; sisters-in-law, Betty (Harvey) Hanes, Margaret Kochan and Joann Fletcher and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A Graveside Military Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road Akron, OH 44333-6118.
