Wayne E. Tschappat

Wayne E Tschappat, 94 of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023. Wayne was born to Margaret Archibald and John Tschappat in Shadyside, Ohio in 1928. He was a 1946 graduate of Shadyside High School. Wayne served as an Army Medical Tech in Japan for 2 years following WWII. He worked as an accountant for Goodyear Aerospace, Sun Rubber and spent his last 17 years at Babcock & Wilcox retiring in 1991. Wayne served as the Civitan President and Lt. Governor in 1975-1976. He was a coach of the CF Little League for 2 years and also served as President from 1967-1971. Wayne was a member of the National Association of Accountants Akron Summit Chapter and served as President from 1982-1983. He was a 70+ year member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls and former Treasurer of the Methodist Men’s Club as well as a long-time member of their Church Bowling League. In the 1990s he served as a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest Committee. 

Preceded in death by his father, John M. Tschappat and mother, Margaret J. (Archibald) Jones; beloved wife, Pauline M (Predieri); sister, Willa E. and brother, John H. Left to miss him include son, David A Tschappat; daughter, Debra K Andrews and adored granddaughter, Jessica L Sagal (John) and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at Rose Hill Burial Park. A funeral procession will form at 12PM at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
