William Blocksom

MUNROE FALLS- On the early morning of March 16, 2023,, William
Blocksom, 94, unexpectedly passed away of natural causes. William was
born to George and Mildred Blocksom on July 18, 1928.
William was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and later, of
Hammel College with an associate degree in Transportation. William
served proudly as a technical corporal in the United States Army.
William married Marianna Glenny on June 23, 1951.
William worked in the trucking industry for his entire working career,
spending 25 years at Roadway Express, Inc. in Akron, Ohio, moving to
American Freight System where he became a vice-president and finished
his career at Jones Motor Freight at the same level.
William enjoyed bowling and play tennis, but nothing made him happier
than spending time with friends he made in his work-related travels and
with his large extended family. Time at the beach was his favorite past
time that he shared for many years on vacations at Hilton Head Island
with his wife, Marianna.
Preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Blocksom, his
brothers Richard and Robert, and his daughter, Terry Lee Robinson
(Blocksom)
He will be missed by: his wife, Marianna, his son, William, his
granddaughter, Lauren D’Agostine, Roger and Bonnie Claypoole, Don
and Marianne Glenny, Diane Tillinger, Alan Glenny, Jackie Burkley,
Michelle Luke, Tim and Nadine Blocksom and his many nieces and
nephews.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 and a
memorial service on April 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Clifford Shoemaker
Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
