William Cargill

William A. "Sonny" Cargill, 59, passed away March 11, 2007.
Sonny was born in Akron and lived his entire life in the Akron area. He was a veteran of Vietnam, having served as an MP in the Army. He was a Patrolman with the Akron Police Dept. retiring with 32 years' service. He was a member of Akron Lodge #7, F.O.P., Mt. Akra Lodge #680, F. & A.M., Blue Knights, American Legion Charles Faust Post #281, Akron BMW club, Grotto, and Redeemer Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Rita; daughters Jennifer (James) Smith and Marisa Cargill, both of Akron; grandson, Scott William Smith; mother, Leona Cargill of Tallmadge; brother Tom (Sharon) of Tallmadge; and sisters Judy Cozart of Akron and Lynda (Stan) Shimko of North Olmstead.
Friends may call at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls on Friday, March 16th from 6 to 9 p.m. where Mt. Akra Lodge will hold a Masonic Service at 6:00 p.m. Friday. A Memorial Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2141 5th St., Cuyahoga Falls at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17th, Pastor Keith Johnson officiating. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2141 5th St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 in his memory.
The family also requests that anyone attending the service on Saturday please DO NOT wear black.
