William Davis

CUYAHOGA FALLS - William Patrick Davis, 81, passed away December 13, 2015. He was born in Akron and was a life-long Cuyahoga Falls resident. He served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. He worked as a machine operator for Goodyear Aircraft going onto to retire from the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department after 16 years of service as a firefighter and paramedic. He was a member of Northampton United Methodist Church, Marine Corps League Chesty Puller Detachment and American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.

Bill was loved by his family and many friends. He devoted his life to taking care of his family including his Downs Syndrome brother Jimmy who lived in their home for many years. Bill had a heart for animals and in recent years rescued and cared for many needing a good home. His generous and loving spirit and willingness to help others will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents, William W. and Harriet P; brother, James A. and sister, Jacqueline Caskey; he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret M "Peg"; daughter, Marie Davis (Robert); son Dr. William Patrick Davis Jr (Peggy); grandchildren, Dr. Robert Patrick Davis, Lindsey (Ted) Riffe, Chelsea and Olivia Davis, great-granddaughters, Gabrielle and Bridget; and brother, Donald P. Davis.

Friends may call from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Friday, Dec. 18 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221, where a funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday, Dec. 19 and friends may call for one hour prior to service time, Rev. Keith McLaughlin officiating and a last alarm service will be conducted. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. A Military Service will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to Falls Firefighters and Community Society, Inc. P.O. Box 1022 Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
