MUNROE FALLS - William Donald Forest, 83, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2010. He was born on January 22, 1927 in Cuyahoga Falls, a son of the late Eric and Mina Forest. Bill was retired from the Summit County Sanitary Engineering Department. He loved sports, rock music and the ocean. His hobbies were golf and horse racing, he was an avid sports fan and was a Veteran WWII having served with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Kent American Legion Post 496 and St. Eugene's Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Lenore (Paul) McCune and brothers, Lyle (Dorothy) Forest and Clarence (Margie) Forest. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (nee Guarnieri) Forest; daughters, Laura (Larry) Cunningham of Kent and Kathy (David) Phillips of Stow; grandchildren, Matthew (Theresa) Phillips, Alicia (Nathan) Shalashnow, Mark Dumm, and Jesse (Amy) Phillips and great-grandson, Landen Phillips. He had 6 nephews and 4 nieces.
The Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, Father Neil Crosby officiating.
