CUYAHOGA FALLS - William A. Gelgota, 87, passed away September 15, 2012.
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, he lived the last four years in Cuyahoga Falls, coming here from Venice, Florida. Mr. Gelgota worked for the Ford Motor Company as a Product Engineer, retiring after 35 years of service. Bill was a veteran of the Army Air Force, a graduate of Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI, a member of the BPOE (Elks) in Houghton Lake, MI, and a member of American Legion No-Vel Post No. 159 in Venice, Florida.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann. He will be greatly missed by his son and daughter-in-law, William and Janet Gelgota Jr. of Canton, GA; daughters Katherine and Lorraine Gelgota, both of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Matthew of Hong Kong, China and Alec of Sydney, Australia; and sister Lillian Petravicius of Lake Orion, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 245 Portage Trail, on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11a.m. The Rev. Dr. David Baker and Rev. Thomas McCann will officiate. Memorial contributions if desired, may be directed to First United Methodist Church, or to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Rd., 2nd Fl, Princeton, NJ 08540.
