William Ghrist

CUYAHOGA FALLS -William J. Ghrist, 79, passed away January 26, 2009. Mr. Ghrist was born in Connellsville, PA and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1952. He had operated the Sohio Gas Station at 6th and Portage Trail and retired from TCH Industries. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served with the U. S. Marine Corps and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, Men's Time Out and Star Lodge 187 F&AM.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan; children, Kathy (Ted) Hoaglin of Chagrin Falls, Bill (Patti) Ghrist of Cuyahoga Falls, Jodi (Dave) Meyer of Canton and Jim Ghrist of Cuyahoga Falls and grandchildren, Brian Hoaglin, Kevin Hoaglin, Jennifer (Todd) Sklarek, Tim (fianc?e Laura Thompson) Ghrist and Stephen Meyer and great-grandson, Joseph Todd Sklarek.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday in the First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. Final resting place Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Open-M at The First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls.
