CUYAHOGA FALLS - William L. Hawkins, 80, passed away July 20, 2006.
Born in Akron, Bill lived the last 50 years in Cuyahoga Falls. He had served in the Army in Korea as a Medic. He worked for the Akron Board of Education as a coach, counselor and Principal, retiring with 30 years service. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, a member of American Legion Charles Faust Post #281, a 50-year member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge #517, F.&A.M., a member of the Board of Trustees for the International Institute, and was a past President and Secretary of North Akron Kiwanis, and was a Kiwanis Lt. Governor.
Preceded in death by his wife Barbara Lee, he is survived by son William L. Jr. (Kim) of West Salem: daughters, Barbara of Cuyahoga Falls, and Beth (Rob) Hoff of Akron & special daughter, Susan Love; grandchildren Drew and Jacki Hawkins, and Adam and Sarah Hoff; brother Robert F. Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, TODAY, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m., Rev. Richard Beck officiating. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 501 W.
