CUYAHOGA FALLS -William L. Morris, 83, died March 24, 2011. He was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls for 30 years. Lieutenant Morris retired from the Silver Lake Police Dept. in 1991 with 25 years service and had previously worked for Ford Motor Co. He was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Navy, was a member of Cuyahoga Falls FOP, the Stow Masonic Lodge, Shrine and American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Bill received 2 awards for saving lives from the American Red Cross and was an avid fisherman, especially with his best friend, Jim McKinney.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janice; son and daughter-in-law, Carl R. and Kathleen Harrison of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Sherry Harrison of Los Angeles, CA grandchildren, Robert, Julie and Michael Harrison, brothers and sister, Charles, Harry and Sadie; daughters by his previous wife, Karen, Laura and Lisa and Laura's children, Jacob and Christopher.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, Mar. 25 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral procession will depart the Funeral Home at 12:00 NOON Sat. March 26 to Oakwood Cemetery for Police Honors by Cuyahoga Falls FOP. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Cuyahoga Falls FOP, 436 Graham Rd. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
