CUYAHOGA FALLS - William A. Schoenstein, 83, passed away June 7, 2010. Mr. Schoenstein was born in Cuyahoga Falls where he had resided is entire life. He was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Navy, was a member of the VFW Clarence W. Mains Post 1070, the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 and had owned S. D. Stanson Company. He was an instructor at The University of Akron for students getting their real estate license and enjoyed local politics as President of Cuyahoga Falls Council and Council at Large.
Bill was the first born of the late Walter and Dorothy Schoenstein and was preceded in death by his brother, Walter J. Schoenstein, sister Kathleen Moore and former wife, Marilyn and is survived by his children, Kayanne Rizor (Kenneth) of Cuyahoga Falls, William A. Schoenstein Jr. (Nancy) of Bath, Maribeth Conley (Bobby) of Green and Dana Schoenstein of Akron; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Robert A. Schoenstein of Clearwater, FL, Maryellen Barrett of Stow, Peggy Gittins of Stow and Judith Stillwell of Akron and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls with Military Rites by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Final resting place Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc. 1815 W. Market St. Suite 301 Akron, OH 44313.
