CUYAHOGA FALLS - William F. Towler Jr. died December 17, 2016. Bill was born in Illinois to parents, William and Lillian Towler. He grew up in the Akron area, participating in the Soap Box Derby and becoming a proud Eagle Scout. After graduating in 1957 from North Hill High School he joined the U.S. Army, training at Fort Sam in Houston, Texas in advanced medical services. Bill was sent to Neubrucke, Germany in charge of the laboratory at the 98th General Hospital. He was employed at Akron Children's Hospital as a medical technologist, working with electron microscopes. Retiring after 37 years, Bill spent time until his death volunteering at Children's. A very good golfer he spent his leisure time in many golf leagues.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian, he is survived by loving wife, Nancy, daughters, Heather (Matt) Terry, Shelly (Dave) Walsh. Stepchildren, William Pollard, Michael (Connie) Pollard, Beverly Pollard and fiancAC., Adam Ziol, Rob (Inessa) Pollard. Cherished grandchildren, Cassie and Alex Terry, Cory and Allison Hook, Chris and Meg Pollard, Ian Selzer and Jacob Pollard. Sisters, Blanch Maples, Sandra Kelly, Leah (Jack) Mortimer. Many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2016, at 11a.m. Rev. Stephanie Crossland officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Ext., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
