Winifred Pettit

Winifred R. Pettit (nee Richards), 92, passed away June 30, 2007 at Traditions on Bath Road. She was born in Akron on March 20, 1915 to Anthony and Mary (O'Connor) Richards. She was a 1933 graduate of North High School and Retired Medical Secretary from the Litchfield Rehabilitation Center with 27 years service. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary and Annunciation parishes.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter C. Pettit, her son Stephen, her daughter Judy and step-granddaughter, Laura Stevenson, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Sherry of Akron; daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Doug Calaman of Clarkston, MI and Wendy and Joe Myers of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Amy (John) Wyse of Kent, Doug II, Victoria and Tony Calaman of Clarkston, MI and Molly and Louie Myers of Cuyahoga Falls; step-grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Roberts and Shelly (Brian) Wenzel of Akron; 4 step-great-grandchildren sisters, Marie Getz of Barberton, Alice (Art) Moline of Wisconsin and Trudy (Jim) Kraft, Tony (Mary) Richards and Joanne Roetzel, all of Akron; brother, Tony (Mary) Richards of Akron and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 am Tuesday in Immaculate Heart of Mary.
